At secondary school Brian was a great chap to grow up with, not the class clown - that was 'Billy' Bowles (who went on to become a respected newspaper reporter) - Brian was the class actor, who could express what we were all feeling, but were not so outgoing. At football, I can't remember what level he played, but he played in the style of the beautiful game. Remembered with a smile. Alan Doel
